About

Diane D. Gillette (she/her) still has the yellow spiral notebook she started writing in when she was seven years old and needed some entertainment in the dentist office waiting room. Her writing skills have improved a bit since then. Her illustration skills, not so much. These days, she mostly writes flash fiction because it suits her attention span and her love of constraint. She's been publishing her short fiction for almost two decades and her work has been selected Best Small Fictions. When she's not writing, she's likely cooking something vegan, hand-making journals, or hanging out with her partner and their two feline overlords. She frequently haunts coffee shops, thrift stores, and craft shops. She's happiest when she is creating something. She lives in Chicago where she teaches English and Writing to some pretty amazing students.
